linking an environmental monitoring device to Business Manager,
we can protect your server room against overheating, power failure,
air conditioning failure and more. Monitoring for these environmental
factors could save you thousands of pounds if anything serious happens.
The devices
that Business Manager monitors are ethernet enabled and sit on your
company's computer network. If they detect any abnormal status they
report directly to Business Manager using your computer network
and Business Manager raises the alarm directly to the IT staff on
duty.
You
can protect your server rooms when there is nobody on your site.
Business
Manager provides you with an internet-based Alert Centre that you
can access via a secure online account. You decide who is alerted,
and how those messages are sent.
The
alert process ensures your essential key personnel are notified,
and that the alarm is acted on. This is monitored by an acknowledgement
process requiring your staff to respond to any alert messages they
receive.
Intamac use Jacarta
as the main UK supplier of environmental monitoring devices. They
already provide systems for IT server rooms and racks. Their SP2
monitoring tool is an Ethernet device that monitors environments
via a LAN by simply assigning it an IP address and plugging in the
sensors. On sensor activation, the SP2 on its own raises the alarm
via email. Thanks to Intamac’s Business Manager, the SP2 can
now raise the alarm by text and voice call too, and to multiple
staff members.
