In May 2003, Intamac Systems secured a contract estimated to be worth £3.5M to provide their Internet based monitoring services to British Telecom. Intamac developed a unique platform that allowed customers to remotely monitor and control a range of products in their home using the Internet or a mobile telephone.
BT Home Monitor VP1000 product Kit offers customers a quality DIY wireless security system complete with a connection to the BT branded automated monitoring and messaging service, powered by Intamac. The system provides a wider range of protection and notification alerts to homeowners, than a traditional security system. By utilizing the power of the Intamac platform, customers receive alerts via SMS text message, and landline telephone, and email in the event of fire and power failure, as well as burglary.

Advanced features include the ability to monitor the control unit event log remotely from any internet enabled device, allowing customers to see when the security system has been set, and by whom. Homeowners also receive a range of useful notification messages, including mains power failure to the property, and self maintenance checks inform you to low battery levels in any of the sensors. BT is the first company to offer a professional quality security system suitable for the DIY market, complete with a revolutionary new monitoring and messaging package.
‘The automated monitoring services provided by the Intamac platform adds real value to a range of products and service, and will allow people to remotely monitor and control systems in their own homes’ said Kevin Meagher, Managing Director of Intamac Systems
'The services we are launching with BT will begin to show how our technology can deliver real benefits to customers, and provide wider protection to people and their property.'
