Sydney and Northampton 30th October 2007 - Intamac Systems has announced a partnership with NRMA Insurance, SGIO and SGIC to launch new internet-based home monitoring and security services in the Australian market. The companies are part of the Insurance Australia Group and they will deploy Intamac’s secure internet portal to introduce innovative new products and services
As part of the agreement, Northampton-based Intamac has built a new support platform in Sydney. This will be used to provide monitoring and messaging services to NRMA Insurance, SGIO and SGIC customers and to support the launch of a range of innovative new security products and services through its Home Security division. This move will position the insurers and Intamac as the leading players in the Australian security market and signals a fundamental change in the opportunities for the provision of home monitoring and security services.
“This is a key contract for Intamac as it demonstrates that the opportunity inherent in internet-based home monitoring and security services is now wide open to any company that has a trusted relationship with its consumers,” emaphasises Intamac CEO, Kevin Meagher.
The Intamac secure internet portal puts the homeowner in complete control. In addition to the benefits of a home monitoring service designed to provide timely information about any unexpected entry or event, clients can remotely manage and monitor routine events in real-time that occur within the home every day.
For example, NRMA Insurance, SGIO and SGIC can customise their home monitoring service to be alerted via phone, e-mail or text message to monitor events such as: children coming home safely for school; the activities of tradespeople, cleaners, nannies, au pairs or elderly relatives; alerts from water and smoke detectors. The platform also provides for the future remote management and control of domestic heating and electrical systems and the devices attached to them.
“Using the Intamac platform we see exciting new opportunities to offer our customers better protection and innovative new services, the sort of added value that is impossible to provide with traditional systems and through conventional suppliers.” adds Angela Hunter, Senior Manager, Value Added Products & Services for NRMA Insurance, SGIC and SGIO.
“This agreement with NRMA Insurance, SGIO and SGIC heralds a step-change in the Australian Home Monitoring market. The customer platform that Intamac Systems has developed allows our partners to offer new levels of service and capability to their customers.” emphasises Eddie Johnson, Managing Director, Intamac Australia.
“Our platform will allow NRMA Insurance, SGIO and SGIC to offer their customers exciting new, value added services at attractive price points as well as simplifying installation and operation. We are bringing new levels of intelligence to the home and making home monitoring a must-have service. We are delighted to be working with IAG, an established leader in Insurance services, to realise the potential of this growing market.”
